Leavenworth County -

Firefighters had to extricate a Leavenworth woman following a rollover crash on Aug. 15 on Kansas Highway 5, according to sheriff’s office and fire department officials.

The crash was reported at 5:10 p.m. Friday near 121st Street and Wolcott Road, which also is K-5.

Rae Lynne Argersinger, 23, was driving north on K-5 when she lost control of the vehicle, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Rick Huhn, chief of Fire District No. 1 of Leavenworth County, said the vehicle rolled onto its passenger side. Argersinger was still seat-belted on the driver’s side when firefighters arrived.

Huhn said firefighters broke the windshield and back window of the vehicle. Firefighters crawled into the vehicle to brace the driver. The seat belt was cut. Firefighters used the opening created by the broken windshield as the exit point for the driver.

Argersinger was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to Saint John Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office report.
